Thou, O Lord

When I led music at FBC, Wolfforth, we made this song our “theme anthem,” of sorts. Now, at Bacon Heights Baptist in Lubbock, we’ve done the same thing. The words, verbatim from the 3rd Psalm, are a theme song for all who are worn, beaten down, afraid, confused….you get the picture. Written by a very weary & worn King David, it’s the first “lament” of the Psalms. To date, it is my favorite all-time choral arrangement of any song, anywhere. Here it is performed by the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir. By the end of the song you’ll be standing and singing at the top of your lungs: “For thou, O Lord, are a shield for me; my glory and the lifter of my head!”  nw
