Should a Christian Bake a Cake for a Same-Sex Wedding?

The above title, of course, is based on a well-known controversy within the past year when a Christian Oregon bakery owner refused to make a wedding cake for a couple because they were homosexual.  The Bible clearly defines marriage as one man and one woman so, based on my convictions, making a cake for same-sex wedding is contributing to their sin, right?  Hmmm…..

Personally, if I had been the bakery owner,……I would’ve happily made the cake.

However, I’m not going to pass judgement on someone whose convictions are different than mine.  Furthermore, regardless of what people think, America is still a free country and the baker should have the right to serve whom he chooses, right or wrong in the court of public opinion.

All of that said, James Denison wrote what I think is a solid blog on this conundrum all Christians must face:  “hating the sin, but loving the sinner.”  I agree with his blog wholeheartedly.  nw
