God can’t possibly fix our broken world.
I’ll confess – there have been moments in my own life that I have descended into such discouragement I, too, have considered that statement to be true.
But, when the world around us is turned upside down we must not allow our minds to continue to be poisoned by social media or the talking heads of news conglomerates. It’s at these times of crisis in what we believe to be truth that we must rediscover our “true north”: God’s Word.
After God promised an elderly – extremely elderly – Abraham and Sarah they would have a child, both Abraham and Sarah, well beyond child-bearing years, laughed in God’s face.
The angel replied, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?
This question tells us a lot about God.
Our answer tells us a lot about us.
Perhaps this is where you find yourself today. If so, consider yourself not only normal, but just like “heroes of the faith” like Abraham and Sarah.
Consider today,…
“Is this habit I’m trying to break too hard for the Lord?” Is the communication problem I’m having with someone I love and respect too hard for the Lord?” “Is forgiving the person who betrayed me too hard for the Lord?” “Is my dislike for my present job too hard for the Lord?” “Is the mess we find the world in too hard for the Lord?”
Adjust the question to your own mountain you feel as though you cannot climb.
Is anything too hard for the Lord?
Not. A. Single. Thing.
