To all who hold to a faith worldview (Islam, Christianity, Judaism, Hindu – it doesn’t matter), it’s coming. And you better be ready when it does.
Congressman, Patrick Maloney, D-N.Y., recently said about religious liberty:
[It is] “a bogus term—it is actually some sort of pretext for discrimination hiding behind the guise of religion.” (Read the article here.)
First, this is an asinine and disrespectful thing to say.
Second, you don’t need a law degree to understand the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution. The founding fathers made certain the amendment was crystal clear:
“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;…”
Politicians like Congressman Maloney – not those who hold to a religious faith – are the epitome of hatred, bigotry and intolerance.
He is yet another example of the proverbial bully saying, “I respect your opinion as long as it’s my opinion coming out of your mouth.”
These people want to rewrite the Constitution. They don’t want freedom of religion, they want freedom from religion.
Maloney’s agenda has nothing to do with any level of religious freedom. It has everything to do with all levels of religious oppression.
My friends, when the time comes – and it will – you had better be ready to exercise the courage to defend your religious freedom, regardless of what that religious faith may look like.
I’ll be leading the way.
(By the way, I was in full agreement with the Court’s decision.)
Soli Deo Gloria, Nick
